Yee Fatt Dry Curry Noodles @ Jln Kampar, Ipoh
May 6, 2009 | 30,280 views Yee Fatt – Now with MORE varieties! In case your bowel’s acting up, and curry noodles’ the last thing on your mind ….
Pardon the ranting, but lately I feel that life is really testing my patience, stretching whatever values I have to the limit. And ironically, barely a week or two ago (I’m losing track of time now), I attended a course on Morale Values in Teluk Batik. Not any pathetic one or two hours of lecture, mind you. No sirree, here we do things on a whole different level; A showstoppin’ of a grandiose scale, with much pompous and swaggerin’, a magnificient 3 days 2 nights of Hardcore-Instilling/Drilling/Installing of Morale Values.
Kind of made up for whatever’s lost over the years. Still remember the nightmare that was SPM’s Moral Studies, anyone? 🙂

Thick, rich and creamy curry dousing the noodle of your choice, with ingredients such as Char Siew (BBQ pork), chicken meat, and bean sprouts as complements. Compared to the other curry noodles in Ipoh, Yee Fatt’s version is slightly spicier (though far from burning hot), thicker gravy, but without the usual bells and whistles of most, such as cockles, roasted pork, prawns and such.

I love the noodles here. The lor mai kai is not too bad too.

the 2nd generation is running the shop now..the quality remains the same at Yee Fatt.

The immorality of eating and reviewing too much eh that you need 3D2N training on Moral Values and lead a healthy life! hehe. The Hainan curry oodles of noodles or hor fun for this matter is temptingly good. I think the signboard already beckons me well.

So this is the curry mee boo-licious mentioned about!
Why no see hum one?? Out of stock? Or does it come with just char siew and chicken? *_*

Wow, seems like their curry is something that we shouldn’t miss then. Thanks for sharing and will put in into my must-visit list.
Sorry to ask for a favour, do you think you can add us to your food bloggers link? Thank you. ^^

I miss ipoh curry so much… and see those ccf.. can never get that kind in Penang.. 🙁

With the new and big signboard, I almost could not recognise it. I prefer the dry curry noodles here than the soup version. Did you try the tea egg?
[Reply]
Chee Cheong Fun is my favorite one 🙂
[Reply]
Aah, all the requisite ingredients are there for a good curry mee. Yummy. The chee cheong fun looks delicious too. Must remember to drop by one day. Thanks!

boo_licious : the pau’s were very good last time, fresh from the steamer. hainan pau. and they had fried rice, rice with pork chops and such. but now not anymore i think.
SimpleGirl : yeah, used to be amused (slightly intimidated) at all the shouting when ordering, as the Hainanese guy was really really loud.
Jencooks : but the 3D2N training was a pointless course though. 🙂
Bangsar Babe : oh she raved bout it as well? 🙂 good good … no see hum lah. never bothered to ask for them also though.
Sugar Bean : no problem! will add you guys in later.
Little Inbox : absolutely horrifying, to some. but to the fans, the noodles are god-sent!
allie : Penang only has HK CCF and those with shrimp paste eh?
soo sean : i didnt try the egg. my friends had the tea without egg though.
Selba : do they have them over in Indon?
LL : the rich, thick and spicy curry is lip-smacking, not to mention lip-smearing messy-goodness!
jason : more than Nam Chau and Tung Koo Ting’s ah?
email2me : Pg as well, though they’re slightly different.
ck lam : just read ur comprehensive coverage of Penang curry noodles as well. together, we can make a difference. hahaha …

I notice they have upgrade their look, new signboard and some beautiful posters. Another great curry noodle from ipoh!

Hi Jinn. Sorry I am not so sure, but they’re only opened for breakfast until lunch hours. Bear in mind that the curry mee finishes rather early, so to be safe, be there early.
They also do fried rice and noodles, in case you’re not there for the curry mee alone.

u guys must be kidding to even suggested that its the best curry mee in ipoh. either u guys are just into hainan style curry mee or u guys haven’t taste the others yet or u guys know nothing about curry mee, FULL STOP! my office is just round the corner and i dont even waste my time with that sort of curry mee and i would rather going elsewhere for other truly great ipoh curry mee. at RM4.50 its a total joke and mind u, its no where near good. ask ipoh folks on where the best curry mee and 9 out of 10 will point u to others place than this yee fatt and that 1 just are so ignorant and adamant that they hardly taste other curry mee around which is why they pick yee fatt.
to me, its nothing about this being hainan or teochew or any kind of curry mee, its all about tasty curry mee regardless, and yee fatt curry mee is a certain NO NO.

I will never come to this place ever again, the attitude of the staff is so bad, this is the second time I come to this place, the first time I come here, i ordered the curry mee,the food was nice and alot, now I come here again, ordered the mee again and this time, the food was alot less and the taste was bad, I ordered a fried rice also, and I waited for more than half an hour and they told me they forgot to switch on the rice cooker, so I need to wait for half an hour more, I really am angry and dissapointed 🙁
