Interlude – A Spirited Motormouth in Bangkok

Sweet Nothings

It was almost blissful. That I left the cold/emotionless cubicle, the piles of work heaped on these strained shoulders, the manic chase for numbers, and the country plagued by impossibly ridiculous stories (the Ms Tow Truck saga being the icing on the cake throughout the hiatus).

And stepped foot on Thailand’s soils, once again.

Pardon the lack of notice. As if you ever needed one in the first place. Some might be heaving a cyclone of a sigh of relief without the constant doses of ramblings these past few days. Others might felt dejected, longing, craving and tantrums being thrown around (ahem, ahem … I can dream, can’t I?!).

Cleansing Ritual

If you’re anticipating a tedious, elaborate (or equally ridiculous as the state of our politics?) or well-drawn out story today, I am sorry.

The first day at work after close to a week’s off was detrimental to the spirits. Dejection should be the key word here, while lethargic sets in a very close second.

For tonight, please allow Motormouth the leeway to present you with a mad stream of random shots taken in Bangkok. There’s no theme to this; I am far from a professional photographer.

Heck, I didn’t even know what I wanted to snap aside from FOOD, FOOD and more FOOD.

Steaming Buns

Brunch Is King

Blinded Love

Itching For Action

Patience Is Virtue

Neighbourly Love

Sheer Joy

But I believe that come this weekend, everything will fall back into place. The biological clock will beat in tandem with the routine rhythm, and this battered body of a glutton  will be well-rested from the barrage of continuous ingestion.

That is, of course …. the weekend’s spent hibernating instead of setting foot on another food trail.

A bit doubtful, but let’s see if these stories of two very interesting markets in Bangkok (Chatuchak’s out of the picture though) an out-of-the-way Isaan feast and one gourmet burger extravaganza will be drafted out for your reading/drooling pleasure.

For now, feast on these previous Bangkok experiences from 2009.

P/S : I will be flying off to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah tomorrow (for work, not play), followed by Kuantan, Pahang on Friday. If there’s any die-die MUST-try stuff over in those towns, please ….. drop me a comment or a mail here.

You probably can get some of those food in kl, kindly omit those you can get and go for the ones you can’t get in Peninsular Malaysia, like different kinds of noodles. They are worth trying!-=)

Kuantan is my hometown. However, I left the town more than 10 years ago and seldom went back. Not familiar with any die-die must try food. However, if you go to Kuantan you should visit Teluk Cempedak, the beach!

    You going to Bangkok?

Can’t help you with Sabah or Kuantan, though I go to the latter very often nowadays. But if you need help with my adopted hometown, drop me an e-mail 🙂
