Sweet? Hmm, yes, Pad Thai should have a light tinge of sweetness, and you're even supposed to pour some sugar, peanuts and chili flakes + fish sauce for better effect. But ferociously sweet is kinda pushing it a little, no?

Haha .. thanks. I saw the Lai Thai before, and they have khanom jeen?! Wow, that's a good start.
Surisit's the one that's earning all the raves recently, hence I'll possibly visit when the hype dies down.

2 thoughts for non-halal Thai in KL - Surisit in Taman Tun has a very porky menu (the pork hock tom yum and grilled pork salad are particularly good) and Lai Thai in Happy Mansion Section 17 which is a kedai runcit for Thai products and which does very simple food at lunch times in the later half of the week (very authentic and tasty som tam, pork noodles and kanom jeen).

Both have been blogged before elsewhere, so I am just passing on a good deed. Actually now that I think about it, these are my current favourites short of going to Bangkok, even leaving out the pork factor !

Hmmm.. I spied this little joint as we parked opposite to head to another restaurant (La Joyeux) on the other road for a porkylicious meal. Will definitely try this place out as I am a sucker for Thai food!

Yeah, pretty reasonable when you think about the effort that they put in by bringing fresh ingredients and bottled sauces from Thailand themselves.
