Given the posh surroundings, with impeccable environment and pleasant service, I would say money well spent. BUT …. a far cry from the street fares of Bangkok. Maybe you consider 300 baht per person per meal as CHEAP (complete with the capitals) but I highly doubt the place is seen by the locals as cheap given the majority of foreigners dining in the place that evening.

I spend more than that on lunch for two at Central World Plaza restaurants on a weekend :)

One may find lots of these spacious and blended with nature kind of joints esp in the north even in small towns. The iconic mieng kham is one of its kind!
