First of all, do accept my apologies for the delay in posting this contest up. Suddenly Motormouth was teleported to Penang for two days of work … With that out of the way, let’s get on to the GOOD STUFF!!!!
Impiana Hotel Ipoh is giving away TEN (10) dining vouchers (each voucher for 2 pax) to TEN (10) lucky winners picked by Motormouth; valid for the Thai buffet dinner (worth RM46 – RM55 per person) at The Coffee House, Impiana Hotel Ipoh. The vouchers are valid daily from 9th October 2012 until 19th October 2012.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
1. Be a fan of Impiana Hotel Ipoh’s Facebook page by clicking HERE and remember to click on the LIKE button. By doing this, you will be updated on the contest’s progress and know whether you’re a winner or not.
2. Leave a comment at the end of this post, on All About Ipoh‘s page or Impiana Hotel Ipoh‘s page by suggesting ONE IDEA on how this blog can be improved further, moving forward to the 5th year since its inception. Remember, you don’t have to write in flawless English/Malay, or an essay (spare me the torment!). Key point is; be creative, constructive and different.
That’s it! Contest starts NOW and will end on Saturday, 13th October 2012 @ 8.00am Malaysian time; GMT+8hrs. Winners will be announced after that and details on how to collect the vouchers will be communicated through e-mail.
Go wear your RED-dest underwear, keep an entire truckload of four-leaf clovers, kneel/roll/plank/repent & pray hard, etc ….. ahem, I meant GOOD LUCK!!
*For more information about the Thai Food Extravaganza @ Impiana Hotel Ipoh, read my previous post.

This web is very informative however it will be better if there are ratings in all the food tried out and eater’s feedbacks and comments

Awesome blog. Don’t change anything but keep the posts short and simple.
[Reply]
Wonderful. It’s informative but a bit packed. Can be improved by keep the info short and simple as well as upload more attractive photos.
[Reply]
Uploading more pictures as it illustrates better than words….
[Reply]
the go-to site for food place…
hoping for more introduction of places around my locality…but then I supposed that can’t be help… =)
I do hope you can give some comments on the quality though…just a little hint perhaps…
keep it up!
[Reply]
To make things perfect, you may try to go for a larger line spacing. The words are too packed and make things a bit saturated.
Archives can be simplified too. You might only have to show the few latest month to make the page looks more simple, soothing and more user friendly.
[Reply]
Awesome blog, and AAI too! Everything is just fine and informative, that will be great if there are more and more vouchers to grab
[Reply]
On the most delicious stories and the recent stories, the wording should be kept short so that it won’t give a feeling of full of words. The background color should have change to other colour which is more fresh for eg: sea blue or apple green. Others are fine with clear description and address.

For me, i always recommend this blog to my friends from outside of Ipoh to view and read about the food in Ipoh.
Prefer to some sort of rating or stars like of scoring based on your tastebud, cost/value for money and level of service. This is just my 2 cents
[Reply]
Try to the title of the page like home about ipoh food…….into more catchy font or colour so that can be easily seen because when just load the page will miss the title there. Instead of concentrating the post at the centre, it may be just stretched out to full page so that it won’t be so packed and easy for reading
[Reply]
Informative. Can be better with ratings included. Maybe would be interesting if there’s a column where readers can rate too so there’s a “motormouth” ratings vs. Reader’s ratings. And the eateries that invited you, should pay you well for you to blog about their place, regardless if it’s good or bad. After all, no bloggers were paid enough just to do what they do man. Just sayin! haha.
[Reply]
Besides food and travel places, perhaps you can try to post more on the events happened/organised around Ipoh or Malaysia just to keep us alert on our surroundings. Anyway, you have done a very good job so far. Thanks a lot for your tips/information.

This website has been a source for all food hunters, from locals to any food hunters who share the same passion, great foods and dining experiences.
I think it’s time for Motormouth to move to a different stage rather than just maintaining great food posts. I think since most of visitors from around Ipoh (IMHO), it’s time to organize a food hunters night/dinner/ or whatsoever you would call it, it just something like a bloggers night.
Why not sharing food experience, reviews in a small organized events?
Organize a food hunters night, get certain restaurant to provide either discount or etc where participants can share out more? Too many to list down from my POV. But I just think it’s one of the best way to share things in real life rather than just keeping comments and reading through online alone.
Regarding on the blog design, minimalism design and responsive design would be a plus. As the trend moves, mobile web surfing increased. Let user load contents in priority.
Just my humble opinion.

Post many photos of your delicious food and it will lure us to your destination.
Thank you.

I think the best thing to improve on your food blogs is to always leave address, opening hours, maybe contact details and always ALWAYS the GPS coordinates, because foodies around Malaysia or sometimes from abroad may find it hard to track down addresses and a GPS coordinate will almost always safe all the hassle. Aside from that I think you are doing a fine job! As I think Ipoh food needs more “marketing” like this as I personally feel Ipoh food should get all the praises it deserves and I am tired of seeing too many food blogs of other places eg. Penang…
Keep up the good work!
[Reply]
this blog is quite nice..it is easy for me to find food in my place as the posts are categorized by location.
http://www.facebook.com/AllAboutIpoh/photos_stream
this page should be improved.
-categorize the photos.
*Food
*Tourist spot..
and etc
other than that,
so far so good.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Impiana-Hotel-Ipoh-Perak/123739734321122
-ask people to share the page. (as there are only 800++ likes)

Love your blog and has been using it for my food hunt for Ipoh, Klang Valley and even Bali. Its and awesome blog but would be great if there were more pictures than words.
A verdict at the end of each food entry on the taste of the food, your recommended dishes and the chances of a return visit would be helpful to readers who need a quick skimp through when looking for dining spots.
Looking forward to your 5th Anniversary and many more years to come. Thank you for sharing your food adventures with us as I have benefited from it.
[Reply]
Love your blog!..I think you should start a new list of food trail adventure (^______^)

Add in some readers rating/vote.
[Reply]
personally i think that you can actually invite the readers to send you their evaluation on the food they’ve eaten ( attached with pictures of course ). Then you might want to modify a bit and this may be featured on your blog since everyone has different taste and preference. By this, you will know more about Ipoh food and try it out because it’s impossible for you to know every single place that has really good food. Hope it might help. =)
[Reply]
First of all, I LOVE YOUR BLOG! To reduce your torment of reading so many comments and ideas.. here is my little idea for improvement.
How about setting up an interactive 3D map for which we can click into and then, the specific post of these eating places will pop out, that will be awesome!
[Reply]
It would be better if u introduce more food from other states. Besides, i suggest tat u should let de readers to rate de restaurant u r introducing. N u can give the restaurant on de rating too, like price, cleanliness, environment, service and so on.
I love your blog and has followed ur blog for 2 years. I have found many delicious food and interesting places in this blog, thx^^ and keep it up!
[Reply]
An idea for your blogposts:-
Introduce a star rating system (perhaps 1-5 stars [e.g. 1 being the worst/lowest with 5 being the best/highest]) with a comment space/box for (1) your own experience as well as (2) those readers/followers who have tried that particular eatery out with the relevant categories (of course you decide on which ones).
E.g.
Taste (this can be really arbitrary – one man’s meat can be another man’s poison)
Ambience (e.g. AC/No AC), decor, etc.
Service (e.g. non-existent to excellent)
Cleanliness (e.g. toxic sewer to spotlessly clean)
Price/Affordability (e.g. dirt cheap to needed to take out a personal loan)
I tend to find that some eateries deteriorate in quality, service and cleanliness over time and some updates as to the current situation as experienced by other more recent diners would be welcome to gauge whether that eatery is worth revisiting again.
[Reply]
MM, since when you started on promoting an outlet? Are you being paid to do this? It started as a friendly blog and now it turns into an ads. pretty disappointed. I hope you follow your grassroots do what you do best. And all those crappie rating system, come on, everybody taste buds is different let them try it out. These might put a decent couple out of business by bias rating system. Looking for food in Ipoh is such an adventure and thats the fun of it. Sorry MM, I am not going to polish your shoe just because of those “Free Stuff”. I been reading your stuff for sometime and it just my personal view others might disagree.
From a humble Nokia camera phone to the current Nikon DSLR. Anyway for those from outside of ipoh/Perak- if you park your car near ipoh famous nga chow kai the jaga kereta guys will demand RM3 for parking(W & B and other state), RM5 for Singapore reg. plate and locals only RM1. Just to share.

To ckchoo:
I respectfully disagree with your implication that a “crappie rating system” should not be implemented. Seriously, if 5 different diners state that a particular place has the cleanliness of a cesspool and a ridiculous rip off, I would seriously think twice before venturing there. Granted that fake negative remarks could jeopardise an eatery’s business but would you prefer not to know of such shortcomings if the remarks are indeed valid and genuine? Would the eatery itself not want to know of its shortcomings from actual discerning paying diners (instead of being heaped with praise from sponsored/paid reviewers) and thereafter improve itself? It goes without saying that each individual is different with different tastes and tolerance levels (I for one, will try to avoid anything vegetarian if I’ve got a choice) but if such rating systems play no purpose then why do some websites e.g. Tripadvisor use them?
That being said, Motormouth – please do also consider an option of hiding ratings for those readers/diners who prefer not to be in the know of how their money will be spent.

Dear Sir,
An idea to improve your blog would be to highlight varieties of food that depict the different cultures in our country. Most of the states in our country offer great food that mirror the various ethnic groups in our country for example, indian, punjabi, north indian and indian muslim cuisine. It would be a great idea to include the recipes for the famous dishes that are offered from the kind chefs who are willing to impart their knowledge for the die hard foodies who want to whip up these recipes on their own.

This is a great blog, thanks for a job well done!
In my humble opinion, every food blog will always says all the good thing, so it will be better if you can feedback how reviewed outlets can further improve, and point out those underperformed outlets honestly so readers know what to avoid, and also serves as a motivation for these outlets to improve further.
p/s Will also be great if you can include a link of the Google maps for easy reference.
Cheers!

Most important looking for is telephone numbers and business hour operations u provided does not us banging our head to the wall when it’s close for business when reach.
Improvement? You are perfect at this moment. Maintain !

Dear MM,
I keep coming back to your blog because of 3 D’s
-Depth of Focus : you take good pictures
-Directions : I can go try it myself
-Description : you have a flair for writing
ONE idea probably would be to include recommended lodging around the vicinity targeted at middle income group, nothing too lavish but not wanting to sacrifice Cleanliness, Comfort and Customer service.
If I were to travel to somewhere remote e.g. Hutan Melintang,
2 things would be top priority, “Where to stay & What to eat?”
Last words : Good job! Keep writing!

At the moment I feel that this blog is interesting and very informative. I would like to see MM put another section for reader’s contribution. In this way, reader’s will be able to share additional info on places they have been to . So I look forward to eating … tasting …… n sharing.

Dear MM and Team,
Thank you for making a wonderful contribution to the F&B industry in Ipoh through this blog and FB page. I’ll just get straight to the topic.
It’s the spacing of this blog. Not enough “white spaces” so everything looks crowded. Example, the wordings stretches left to right until it almost reach the right column. And same for the photos too.
Agree with the other comments about more games and contests for readers with the food outlets rolling out the prizes.
Keep up the good work!
