In reply. Yes, i have a few glitches at Capri at times, in particular the less then properly done bacon. Failed to mention that. Regarding Michelangelos' Pizzeria, is it actually associated with Michelangelos' in KL? As it can be potentially confusing to those KL-ites who make the trip down to Ipoh.

Hi David, thanks for the detailed comment. I appreciate that.

I never proclaimed that Pizza Hut's pizzas are THE original ones, and you can actually read about my post on the up and coming pizzeria in Ipoh, named Michelangelo's Pizzeria for a better understanding.

http://www.j2kfm.com/preview-michelangelos-pizzeria-ipoh/

Italiannie's is a place for gathering, serving large portions of pasta/pizza etc to be shared, at affordable prices. It may NOT be the most authentic versions out there, but compared to Capri's disastrous (pardon me, but the experience with the pizza and pasta that afternoon left us with a rather poor impression of the food) versions, my vote went to Italiannies. But bear in mind this was more than a year ago.

And David, before you make any discouraging remarks, I DID NOT rave about the Gong Pian at Ayer Tawar, and I'm sure you would have understood from the review how I compared Ayer tawar's version with Sitiawan's. Do read properly before throwing criticism, thank you.

I can understand that you're a FAN of Capri, and the NON-LOUSY food they may serve, but do remember that this review was based on personal opinions, and subjective to my personal tastebuds.

Thanks, and MERRY X'MAS. :)

By reading at your comments, i can't help but agree with Thomas. Good western food is hard to find in Lumut, and Capri does make up for a lot for it whenever i make the trip back to Lumut. You guys seem to be the kind of people that tends to appreciate Italiannies and those frequently raved-about western restaurants. In reality, Italiannies is over-rated (read: over-rated) as the food, from my experience is awful. The angel hair pasta tastes more like fatter, soggier mee hoon. Not to forget the beef bacon in the Fettuccine Carbonara that was incredibly tough.

To the author of this post, again, REAL pizzas (read-REAL) aren't definitely those from Pizza Hut, nor even Dominos. Pizza Hut's idea of a pizza is actually off the original concept. They're supposed to have crispy crusts, yet having a chewy dough at the same time.

Don't mean to offend those, including the author, but i do think that you guys just need to make a trip to Italy to experience that best in Italian food. And once again, you guys seem to be of those 'pro lousy-food' people. The gong piah you raved about wasn't that nice after all. In fact, i've actually tried the 'gong pian' at Jalan Raja Omar. At 10 cents more, it's actually much, much better than the one at Ayer Tawar.

hi kennhyn, in fact this was my SECOND post on gong pia. 1st was the Sitiawan's version.

yeah, unless it's hot and fresh, the biscuit tends to get rock-hard fast!

hahaha ... that's really funny, Thomas.
thanks for your comments though. but once again, everyone's entitled to their own opinions, esp. on something subjective,
ie. food and taste.
as the saying goes, one man's meat may be another man's poison.
chill ya? =)

Well, guys, I am a foreigner from europe and if I may guess then you all are chinese or other malaysians and this means you all have no clue what real western food is. I am working in Asia since 1999 and went a bit around like Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam and staying now here in Malaysia, recently I came to work here to Lumut and am often at Capri's and don't like seafood that much, so can not comment on that, but anything else, e.g. Pizza Hawaiana, Lasagne, Spaghetti, Salads are really tasty and very much like homemade. But why am I getting heated up about you all, as for me Malaysia Food is most of the time very disappointing, Thailand and Singapore are at the top of the list and Capri has suprisingly real authentic Italian cuisine. Take my word for granted as I am European and think I know a bit more about food as good restaurants are really very rare in Malaysia. Take care and drop me a line but please polite, greetings Thomas
