Best of 2012 – Motormouth’s Top 12 Ipoh Food Finds
January 1, 2013 | 38,905 viewsHere’s a list of my Top 12 Ipoh Food Finds in 2012; staying true to the blog’s tradition of year end lists. Enjoy!
#12 – TAI WO YUAN @ THEATRE STREET
After more than a decade of graduating from my secondary school, the favourite Ais Kacang and Wan Tau Long Jelly stall wedged between two shops near the Pasir Puteh market has closed for what seemed like an eternity.
Then the good news came. Tai Wo Yuan started operating from a new premise on Theatre Street opposite of Rasa Sayang Chicken Rice, and the Rojak + ABC + Wan Tau Long combo becomes a reality again. Dreams … can come true.

#11 – KEDAI KOPI WING FATT @ PASIR PINJI
People told us that the wait was unbearable. We just had to try for ourselves. It’s been ages since the last visit (if ever there was one, but Mum insisted that we had been there before), and the 45 minutes spent did seem a bit draggy.
Then the pot of rice cooked to a firm texture; separating the grains from one another and coated in a deliciously dark and glossy sauce. And smooth cuts of chicken steamed to a pale shade of beige. Plus that killer layer of crust underneath …. we were sold.

Just missed it, was in Ipoh last week and it was great because it was Ipoh on a normal day without the crowd. Am sure Ipoh would be crowded the next time I visit during CNY.
Will have to wait for the subsequent visit to try these yummy places, thanks and wishing u a Happy 2013

The cili sauce (sambal) looks delicious and with your introduction of it; makes it more tempting, not to mention the noodles itself.
I have been searching this place for 3-4 times, but failed. Has this route to Xin Quan Fang been diverted? Would like to locate it in the next visit but needs elaborate directions eg landmark, shops etc.
Thank you & Happy New Year 2013

really curious about the relationship between Tuck Kee and Sun Tuck Kee…not to forget there’s another Sun Tuck Kee deep inside Bercham…the juicy gossiping should add more taste to the already delicious Wat Tan Hor =)
